Giriş ve Amaç: Düzenli yapılan bedensel egzersizler, sağlık için önemi gün geçtikçe daha da
belirginleşmektedir. Düzenli fiziksel aktivite psikolojik sağlığın kazanılmasında ve korunmasında da olumlu katkı
sağlamaktadır. Bu nedenle, bu çalışmanın amacı düzenli egzersizin depresyon, mutluluk ve psikolojik iyi oluş
üzerine etkisinin belirlenmesidir. Yöntem: Çalışmanın amacı doğrultusunda düzenli egzersiz yapan 120 kişi ve
düzenli egzersiz yapmayan 119 kişi gönüllü olarak araştırmaya katılmıştır. Düzenli egzersiz yapan katılımcılar en
az 3 aydan beri haftada minimum 3 kere düzenli olarak spor yapanlardan oluşmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak
Depresyon ve Mutluluk Ölçeği- Kısa Formu (DMÖ-KF), Oxford Mutluluk Ölçeği Kısa Formu ve WarwickEdinburgh Mental İyi Oluş Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Veriler SPSS 17 paket programında parametrik testler ile analiz
edilmiştir. Analizlerde anlamlılık düzeyi .05 olarak belirlenmiştir. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler ve
bağımsız gruplarda t-testi ile kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Düzenli egzersiz yapan grubun, düzenli egzersiz yapmayan
katılımcılara göre anlamlı olarak yüksek depresyon/mutluluk, mutluluk ve psikolojik iyi oluş puanlarına sahip
olduğu belirlenmiştir (p<.05).Sonuç: Bu bulgular doğrultusunda düzenli egzersizin depresyon mutluluk ve
psikolojik iyi oluş ile ilişkili olduğu belirtilebilir.
Introduction and Objective: Regular physical exercises are becoming more and more prominent for
health. This is because regular physical activity contributes positively to the acquisition and protection of
psychological health. For this reason, the aim of this study was to determine the effect of regular physical exercise
on depression, happiness and mental well-being. Method: For the purpose of this research, 120 people who
regularly exercised and 119 people who did not exercise regularly voluntarily participated in the research.
Participants, who regularly practice exercise, consist of individuals who regularly perform exercise at least 3 times
a week during the last 3 months. Depression and Happiness Scale-Short Form (SDHS), Short Form of Oxford
Happiness Scale and Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale were used as data collection tools. The data
was analyzed by parametric tests in the SPSS 17 packet program. The level of significance in the analyzes was
determined to .05. Descriptive statistics and independent sample t-test were used in the analysis of the data.
Results: Regular exercise group was found to have significantly higher depression / happiness, happiness and
mental well-being scores than participants who did not exercise regularly (p <.05). Conclusion:It can be stated in
the direction of these findings that regular exercise is related to depression, happiness and subjective well-being
of individuals
