ÖZET Yüksek Lisans Tezi NANOKRİSTAL FERROMANYETİK Fe-Cr-Cu-Nb-Si-B ALAŞIMLARIN MANYETİK VE MANYETOELASTİK ÖZELLİKLERİ Nevzat BAYRI İnönü Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Fizik Anabilim Dalı 101+xiv 2002 Danışman: Prof. Dr. Selçuk AT AL AY Bu çalışmada, Fe74"xCrxCuıNb3Sii3B9 (x=0,2,4,8, 11,14,17) nanokristal alaşımların yapısal, manyetik ve manyetoelastik özellikleri üzerine Cr katkılanmasının etkisi incelenmiştir. Farklı boyutta nanokristal yapı oluşturabilmek için numuneler, bir saat süreyle argon atmosferi altında 450°C ve 650°C sıcaklık aralığında ısıl işleme tabi tutulmuştur. Numunelerin kristalleşme süreçleri DTA ölçüm sistemi kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Aktivasyon enerjisini belirlemek amacıyla termal ölçüm verileri 5,10,15,20°C/dak. ısıtma hızlarında elde edilmiştir. Isıl işlemle mikroyapıdaki değişim X-ışınları kırınım ölçümleri ile belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, nanokristal malzemenin kristal büyüklüğü yarı yükseklikteki pik genişliği kullanılarak hesaplanmıştır. M-H eğrileri de alan altında ölçülmüştür. Magnetostriction 'in manyetik alana bağlılığı, bir fıber-optik dilatometre kullanılarak ölçülmüştür. Ayrıca, Young modülünün (AE effect) manyetik alana bağlılığı titreşim reed metodu kullanılarak ölçülmüştür. Nanokristal numunelerde AE etki sonuçları, stres' in ve magnetostriction 'in değişimine göre yorumlanmıştır. Fe(Si) fazının oluşumu üzerinde Cr katkılanmasının büyük bir etkisi olduğu gözlenmiştir ve a-Fe(Si) fazının kristal büyüklüğünün Cr oranının artması ile azaldığı belirlenmiştir. Fe74.xCrxCuıNb3Sii3B9 numunelerde, Fe yerine Cr manyetizasyon ve magnetostriction değerlerinin azaldığı belirlenmiştir. Ayrıca, Fe74. xCrxCuıNb3Sii3Bg as-receive numunelerde, etkin olan anizotropinin alaşımın kompozisyonuna bağlılığını belirleyebilmek için, AE etki sonuçlan kullanılmıştır. Fe yerine %4 Cr katkılanan numunelerin manyetik "soft" luğa yol açtığı belirlenmiştir. Thesis THE MAGNETIC AND MAGNETOELASTIIC PROPERTIES OF NANOCRTSTALLINE FERROMAGNETIC Fe-Cr-Cu-Nb-Si-B ALLOYS Nevzat BAYRİ Inonu University Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences Department of Physics 101+ xiv pages 2002 Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Selçuk AT ALAY In this study, the effect of Cr substitution on the structural, magnetic and magnetoelastic properties of nanocrystalline Fe74_xCrxCuiNb3Sii3B9 (x=0,2,4,8,l 1,14,17) alloys have been investigated. The samples were annealed between 450°C and 650°C for one hour under the argon atmosphere to induce various nanocrystalline fractions. The crystallization behaviour of the samples were investigated by differantial thermal analyzer (DTA). Thermal data were measured at heating rates of 5,10,15,20°C/ minutes to obtain activation energy. The change in microstructure upon annealing was examined by the X-ray spectrum data. The grain size of the nanocrystalline material was calculated using peak width at half maximum. The M-H curves were measured at dc magnetic field. The magnetic field dependence of magnetostriction was measured using a fibre-optic dilatometer. The magnetic field dependence of Young 's modulus (AE effect) was measured using the vibration read method. The AE effect results are interpreted partly in terms of the stress relief and the reduced magnetostriction in nanocrystalline samples. A large influence of Cr content on the formation of a-Fe(Si) phase was obşgr^şd. It was founded that the grain size of the a-Fe(Si) phase decreases with ^creasing*. Cr\ content. In Fe74_xCrxCuiNb3Sii3B9 samples, it was observed that substitati(fh of f6 byÇr \ 111 lowers magnetization and magnetostriction values. The measurement of AE effect also allowed us to estimate the compositional dependence of effective anisotropy energy, particularly in as received Fe74-xCrxCuiNb3Sii3B9 samples. It was found that 4% partial substitution of Fe by Cr could leads to a magnetic softness.
