Dr. Mustafa Sülü Bu tez, tripodal fosfın ligandının, CH3C[CH2PO-ButC6H4)2]3, ButPPP, rodyum ve iridyum kompleksleri sentezini ve onların katalitik aktivitelerinin homojen olarak katalizlenen asetalizasyon ve hidrojenasyon reaksiyonlarında İncelenmesini kapsamaktadır. ButPPP ligandının [RhCl3(MeCN)3] ile reaksiyonu sonucu [RhCbCBu'PPP)] kompleksi elde edildi. [IrCl(COD)]2 kompleksinin Bu'PPP ligandı ile reaksiyonu sonucu elde dilen iridyum olefin kompleksinin klor gazı ile oksidasyonu sonucu [IrCbCBu'PPP)] kompleksi elde edildi. Nötral [RhCl^Bu'PPP)] ve [IrCl3(BulPPP)] komplekslerinin asetonitrilde AgOTf ile etkileştirilmesi sonucu katyonik solvento kompleksleri [Rh(MeCN)3(Bu'PPP)](OTf)3 ve [Ir(MeCN)3(Bu'PPP)](OTf)3 elde edildi. Sentezlenen kompleksler 31P{'H }-NMR, 'H-NMR, İR spektroskopileri ile karakterize edildi. Öncül katalizör özelliğine sahip katyonik komplekslerin ılımlı koşullarda hidrojenasyon ve asetalizasyon reaksiyonlarında katalitik aktiviteleri test edildi. Bu komplekslerin yüksek katalitik aktiviteleri ılımlı koşullarda benzofenon, benzil gibi hacimli diaril ketonların bile asetalizasyonunu ve akrilamidin hidrojenasyonunu gerçekleştirdi. ABSTRACT Master Thesis THE COORDINATION CHEMISTRY OF RHODIUM AND IRIDIUM WITH TRIPODAL PHOSPHINE LIGAND H3CC[CH2P(^-ButC6H4)2]3, AND INVESTIGATION OF THEIR CATALYTIC PROPERTIES Ahu Sekmeci İnönü University Gratuate Scholl of natural and applied Sciences Department of Chemistry vii+ 50 pages 2001 Supervisor : Assis.Prof.Dr. Mustafa Süiti This thesis describes, synthesis of complexes of iridum and rhodium with tripodal phosphine ligand, CHşClCfyip-ButCsH^h, ButPPP, and investigation of catalytic activities of their in homogeneously catalyzed hydrogenation and acetalization reactions. The reaction of the Bu'PPP with [RhCl3(MeCN)3] gave the complex of [RhCİ3(BulPPP)]. The olefine complex of iridium obtained by the reaction of [IrCl(COD)]2 with Bu'PPP was oxidized with Cl2 to give the complex of [IrClaCBu'PPP)]. The treatment of neutral complexes [RhCl3(Bu'PPP)] and [IrCbCBu'PPP)] with AgOTf in acetonitrile gave cationic solvento complexes [Rh(MeCN)3(Bu'PPP)](OTf)3 and [IKMeCNMBu'PPP^OTfb respectively. All complexes were characterized by ""P^HJ-NMR, 'H-NMR and IR spectroscopies. The catalytic activities of cationic complexes having properties of catalyst precursor was tested in hydrogenation and acetalization reactions under the mild conditions. The higher catalytic activity of these complexes also allowed acetalization of sterically hindered diarylketone, such as benzophenone, benzyl and hydrogenation of acrylamide under mild conditions.
