Abstract

ÖZET Bu araştırmada, ilköğretim okulu 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin matematik dersindeki başarıları ile; bu öğrencilerin sınıf öğretmenlerinin öğretim yöntemleri arasındaki ilişkinin ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır. Böylece, ilköğretim okulu 5. sınıf öğrencilerinin matematik dersindeki başarılarında hangi öğretim yönteminin daha etkili olduğu ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan öğrenci başarı testinin, genel olarak 5. sınıf matematik konularını kapsadığı varsayılmaktadır, öğrenci başarısına etkisi araştırılan öğretim yöntemlerinden hangilerinin kullanıldığı 5. sınıfı okutan öğretmenlerin yanıtları ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Araştırmada betimsel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini, Adıyaman il merkezinde bulunan İlköğretim okullarının 5. sınıflarında görev yapan öğretmenler oluşturmaktadır. Evrendeki okullardan tesadüfi örneklem yoluyla seçilen 18 okulun 40 adet 5. sınıf ve bu sınıflardan da 20'şer adet öğrenci aynı yolla seçilmiş ve bu sınıfları okutan öğretmenlerin tamamı örneklem olarak seçilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen 5. sınıflar için matematik testi ve 5. sınıfları okutan öğretmenler için anket kullanılmıştır. Öğretmen anketinin birinci bölümünde öğretmenlerin kişisel özellikleri, ikinci bölümde ise Matematik dersinde kullanılan öğretim yöntemlerinin neler olduğunu içeren sorulardan oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin analizinde öğretmenlerin kişisel özelliklerinin belirlenmesinde Frekans, Aritmetik Ortalama ve Yüzdelikler hesaplanmıştır. Matematik dersindeki öğrenci başarısının öğretmenlerin kullandığı öğretim yöntemine göre farklılık gösterip göstermediğinin belirlenmesinde Mann Whitney U-testi kullanılmıştır. ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to find the relationship between the achievement of the fifth class students of primary school in math's lesson and teaching methods used by their teachers. As a result, the teaching methods which had effect on the achievement of fifth classes in math's lesson more were found. It was assumed that student achievement test included the subjects of the fifth classes' math's lesson. The teaching methods, of which effects were researched on the students' achievement, were restricted with the answers of the fifth classes' teachers. In the research, descriptive method was used. The population of the research consisted of the teachers who teach in the fifth classes of primary schools in the city center of Adıyaman. Forty fifth classes and twenty students from each class were selected among from randomly selected eighteen schools using with the same way. All of the teachers of those classes were chosen as the sample. To collect the data, the tests developed by the researcher for the fifth classes and questionnaires for the fifth classes' teachers were used. The first section of teachers' questionnaires contains questions about which methods used in math's lesson. In order to analyze the data, to determine the personal features of the teachers' Frequency, Arithmetic Mean and Percentages are calculated. In order to determine whether the achievement of students in math's lesson according to the teaching methods used by tejcjjers Mann Whitney U-Test was used. In the findings of the resejjph, trli jeffepts of the teaching ^> ****** methods used by the teachers on the fifth class students of primary school were found.
