Bu tezde püskürtme tekniği uygulanarak Al2O3, MgO ve SrTiO3 seramik altlıklar üzerinde farklı ısıl işlemler kullanılarak MgB2 kalın filmler üretilmiştir. Üretilen kalın filmlerin mikroyapısal ve elektriksel karakterizasyonu gerçekleştirilmiş olup kullanılan altlıkların ve uygulanan ısıl işlemlerin süperiletken MgB2 sistemi üzerindeki etkileri incelenmiştir Yapılan çalışmalar sonucunda, uygulanan yöntemin MgB2 filmlerin süperiletkenlik karakterini olumsuz yönde etkileyebilecek bazı riskler taşıdığı bulunmuştur. Bu olumsuzlukların başlıca, film yapısında çatlakların oluşması, değişik boyutta öbeklerin ve yabancı fazların oluşumu olarak ortaya çıktığı görülmüştür. Filmlerin mikroyapısal ve elektriksel özelliklerinin bu olumsuzluklardan önemli oranda etkilendiği görülmüştür. Kullanılan üç farklı altlık içerisinde en iyi sonuçların Al2O3 altlık üzerinde üretilen filmde oluştuğu bulunmuştur. Ayrıca farklı ısıl işlem prosedürleri arasında üst sınırını 925 0C' nin teşkil ettiği yüksek sıcaklık ve kısa süreli yöntemin düşük sıcaklık ve uzun süreli yönteme göre kalın film üretimine daha uygun olduğu sonucu da çalışmanın bir başka önemli bulgusu olmuştur.
In this thesis, MgB2 thick films were prepared on three different ceramic substrates like Al2O3, MgO and SrTiO3 using the spray method and different heat treatment procedures. Microstructural and elecrical characterization of films obtained were made and then the effects of substrates used and heat treatment methods applied on superconducting MgB2 system were investigated. At the end of the work, it has been found that the method applied carries some risks which can depress the superconducting properties of MgB2 films. It has been seen that this situation caused formation of cracks, groups and impurities with different dimensions in the structure of films. It has been also seen that these effects seriously degraded the microstructural and electrical properties of films. The investigation demonstrated that among three different substrates used the best results belong to films with Al2O3 substrate. Another important result of this study is that higher temperature heat treatment procedure with 925 0C the highest temperature limit and short time sintering is more suitable for production of MgB2 thick films than lower temperature heat treatment procedure and long time sintering.
