Günümüzde yaşanan teknolojik gelişmeler hayatımızın her alanına etki edebilmektedir. Teknolojik gelişmeler günümüzde eğitim camiasına da yansımış durumdadır. Özellikle okullarda bilgisayarlardan yararlanılarak eğitim yapmak giderek önem kazanmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, ilköğretim sosyal bilgiler dersinde kullanılan bilgisayar destekli eğitsel oyunların öğrencilerin ders başarısına olan etkisini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmada ön test ve son test kontrol gruplu deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılında Şanlıurfa İli Viranşehir İlçesinde Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı 6. Sınıftaki 70 (35 deney grubu 35 kontrol grubu) öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Deneysel çalışma 4 hafta (12 ders saati) süreyle uygulanmıştır. Deney grubunda "Ülkemizin Kaynakları" ünitesi bilgisayar destekli eğitsel oyunlar kullanılarak, kontrol grubuna ise mevcut programdaki kazanımlara uygun olarak hazırlanan etkinlikler uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada akademik başarının ölçülmesi amacıyla veri toplama aracı olarak "Sosyal bilgiler akademik başarı testi "kullanılmıştır. Akademik başarı testinde 50 adet çoktan seçmeli(4 şık) soru yer almıştır. Verilerin analizi SPSS 16 paket istatistik programı kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Yapılan ön test ölçümleri sonuçlarına göre deney ve kontrol grubu öğrencilerinin arasında anlamlı bir fark bulunamamıştır. Ancak deney ve kontrol gruplarına uygulanan son test sonuçları arasında anlamlı bir fark olduğu görülmüştür. Araştırma bulgularına göre bilgisayar destekli eğitsel oyunların, öğrencilerin akademik başarılarını ve bilgilerin kalıcılığını arttırdığı belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlardan hareketle bilgisayar destekli eğitsel oyunların öğrencilerin akademik başarısını arttırdığını, dersi daha dikkatli dinlemelerini sağladığını ve daha somut öğrenmelerin yaşanmasına ortam hazırladığını söylemek mümkündür. Today's technological developments can affect every aspect of our life. Technological developments are also reflected in the education community today. Especially, it is becoming more and more important to educate by using computers in schools. The purpose of this study is to reveal the effect of computer-based educational games used in primary education social studies course to the success of students. Experimental design with pre-test and post-test control group was used in the study. The study group of the study is composed of 70 students (35 experimental groups and 35 control groups) in the 6th Grade affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the province of Viranşehir in Şanlıurfa Province in the academic year of 2017-2018. The experimental study was carried out for 4 weeks (12 hours). In the experimental group, "Resources of our country" unit was implemented using computer-aided educational games, and in the control group activities were prepared in accordance with the gains in the current program. "Social studies academic achievement test" was used as a data collection tool in order to measure academic achievement in the research. In the academic achievement test there were 25 multiple choice questions (4 chapters). Analysis of the data was made using the SPSS 16 packet statistical program. According to the results of the pre-test measurements, no significant difference was found between the experimental and control group students. However, there was a significant difference between the post-test results applied to experimental and control groups. According to research findings, it was determined that computer-assisted educational games increased student's academic achievements and information permanence. Based on the results obtained, it is possible to say that computer-based educational games increase the academic success of the students, provide more careful listening lessons and prepare environment for more concrete learning.
