Bilgisayar ve Öğretim Teknolojileri Eğitimi Alanında Bir Elektronik Mentorlük Programının Planlanması, Uygulanması ve Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Abstract In this case study of qualitative design, an electronic mentoring program was implemented in the field of computer education and instructional technologies. The program was carried out with group mentoring model whereby postgraduate students provided mentorship for undergraduate peers as a part of a multimedia development project. The e-mentorship program was completed in 17 weeks in a three-phase structure. Qualitative datas were collected and analysis of the data showed that mentors supported the mentees in many aspects. The most prominent of these were reported as writing reports on academic level, selection of qualified multimedia, and carrying out the project in a planned and collaborative manner. The most important contribution of the program to the mentors was referred to as establishing new friendships and development of communication skills throughout the process. In addition, the mentors stated that they learnt to manage a project team and they had enjoyed professional satisfaction by supporting the mentees. From the mentees’ point of view, the e-mentoring experience developed them significantly in the form of working collaboratively, learning the project process by experiencing, and improving technical skills. Öz Nitel desende gerçekleştirilen bu durum çalışmasında, bilgisayar ve öğretim teknolojileri eğitimi alanında bir elektronik mentorlük programı gerçekleştirilmiştir. Grup mentorlük modelinin kullanıldığı programda, lisansüstü eğitimlerine devam eden öğrenciler bir çoklu ortam geliştirme projesi süresince lisans öğrencilerine mentorlük yapmıştır. E-mentorlük programı üç aşamalı bir yapı içinde 17 haftada tamamlanmıştır. Nitel verilerin toplandığı çalışmanın sonuçları, mentorlerin mentilere birçok konuda destek olduğunu göstermektedir. Bunlar içinde en öne çıkanlar; akademik dilde rapor yazma, nitelikli çoklu ortamların seçimi, projenin planlı ve işbirliği içinde yürütülmesi şeklindedir. Mentorlere göre programın kendilerine sağladığı en önemli katkılar, yeni dostluklar kurmaları ve bu süreçte iletişim becerilerinin gelişimidir. Ayrıca mentorler bir proje ekibinin nasıl yönetileceğini öğrendiklerini ve mentilere yardımcı oldukları için meslekî doyuma ulaştıklarını bildirmektedir. Mentiler açısından ele alındığında e-mentorlük programı; işbirliği içinde çalışabilme, proje sürecini deneyimleyerek öğrenme ve teknik beceriler geliştirme konularında önemli katkılar sağlamıştır.
