Bu araştırma, Güzel Sanatlar ve Tasarım Fakültesi Müzik Anabilim Dalında okuyan ikinci ve üçüncü sınıf öğrencilerinin yoga nefes tekniklerinin solunum fonksiyonu kapasitesine etkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. 2013-2014 eğitim ve öğretim yılında İnönü Üniversitesi Güzel Sanatlar ve Tasarın Fakültesi Müzik Bilimlerinde okuyan ikinci ve üçüncü sınıf öğrencileri üzerinden yürütülen araştırmada ön test-son test eşleştirilmiş kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada, düzenli olarak yoga yapmayan ve sağlık problemi olmayan 20 erkek ve 20 kadından oluşan deney ve kontrol grubu oluşturulmuştur. 10 hafta süre ile kontrol grubu normal yaşam aktivitelerine devam ederken, deney grubuna haftada 2 defa olmak üzere 15'er dakikalık "Orijinal Yoga Sistemi" nefes teknikleri programı uygulanmıştır. Nefes teknikleri programı öncesinde ve sonrasında deney ve kontrol gruplarının FVC, FEV1 ve FEV1/FVC ölçüm testleri, akciğer vital kapasite test cihazı ile Malatya Turgut Özal Tıp Merkezi Hastanesi Göğüs Hastalıları Anabilim Dalında yapılmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar istatistik programı ile değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, cinsiyet değişkeni ile FVC, FEV1 ve FEV1/FVC, yaş değişkeni ile FVC ve FEV1/FVC değer ortalaması arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark tespit edilmezken, yaş değişkeni ile FEV1 değer ortalaması arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark tespit edilmiştir. Deney grubunda bulunan bireylerin FVC ve FEV1 ön test ve son test ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık saptanırken, ön test ve son testte FEV1/FVC değer ortalamaları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark tespit edilmemiştir.
The aim of this study is to determine the effects of yoga breathing techniques on respiratory function capacity of second and third year students at the Music Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. In the 2013-2014 academic year, pre-test and post-test matched control group quasi-experimental design was used in the study which was conducted on the second and third grade students studying in the Music Sciences of İnönü University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. In this study, an experimental and control group consisting of 20 males and 20 females who do not regularly practice yoga and do not have any health problems was formed. While the control group continued normal life activities for 10 weeks, "Original Yoga System" breathing techniques program was applied to the experimental group twice a week for 15 minutes. Before and after the breathing techniques program, FVC, FEV1 and FEV1 / FVC measurement tests of the experimental and control groups were performed with lung vital capacity tester in Malatya Turgut Özal Medical Center Hospital Chest Diseases Department. The results were evaluated with a statistical program. As a result of the study, no statistically significant difference was found between FVC, FEV1 and FEV1 / FVC, age variable and FVC and FEV1 / FVC mean values, but a statistically significant difference was found between FEV1 and FEV1 mean values. While there was a statistically significant difference between the FVC and FEV1 pre-test and post-test averages of the individuals in the experimental group, no statistically significant difference was found between the FEV1 / FVC mean values in the pre-test and post-test.
