Abstract:Bu çalışmanın amacı sınıf öğretmeni adaylarının öğretmen ve öğretmenlik mesleği kavramlarına ilişkin algılarının belirlenmesidir. Çalışma Kastamonu Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi, İlköğretim Bölümü, Sınıf Öğretmenliği p rogramı 1.sınıf ta öğrenim gören 168 öğretmen adayı ile yürütülmüştür. Öğretmen adaylarının belirlenen kavramlarla ilgili algılarının ortaya koyulması amacıyla veri top lama aracı olarak, 2 adet açık uçlu sorudan oluşan f orm kullanılmıştır. Ankette yer alan Öğretmen gibidir, çünkü ve Öğretmenlik mesleği gibidir, çünkü if adelerinin katılımcılar tarafından tamamlanması istenmiştir. Anket sorularında yer alan veriler içerik analizi tekniğiyle çözümlenmiştir. Analiz sonucunda belirlenen metaf orlar ile bunlara bağlı oluşturulan kategorilerin doğruluğunun belirlenebilmesi amacıyla metaf or ve kategori listeleri çalışma alanında uzman 3 öğretim üyesi ile p aylaşılmıştır. Uzman görüşleri sonrasında, örtüşmeyen metaf orlar üzerinde tartışılarak çalışmada kullanılan metaf or ve kategorilere son şekli verilmiştir. Buna göre, öğretmen adaylarının öğretmen kavramıyla ilgili olarak 53, öğretmenlik mesleği ile ilgili olarak ise 62 geçerli metaf or ürettikleri belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak, öğretmen adaylarının öğretmen kavramına ilişkin algılarının olumlu olduğu ancak öğretmenlik mesleğine ilişkin birtakım olumsuz metaf orlar ürettikleri ortaya koyulmuştur. Söz konusu olumsuz metaf orların öğretmenlik mesleğinin katılımcılar tarafından zorlu, belirsizlikleri olan ve kurallı bir meslek olarak görüldüğü için if ade edildiği belirlenmiştir.
Abstract:The purpose of this study was to determine the metaphorical perceptions of classroom teacher candidates regarding teacher and teaching prof ession concepts. Study was conducted with 169 teacher candidates at Kastamonu University, Faculty of Education. A survey f orm, consisted of 2 open-ended questions, was used as data collection tool to set the teacher candidates perceptions, The participants were asked to f ulf il the Teacher is like because .. and Teaching prof ession is like because .. expressions f eatured in the survey f orm. Gathered data was analyzed according to the content analysis technique. To modify the integrity of the metaphors and the categories of them, the lists were shared with 3 f ield specialist academics. According to the contentions of the specialists, non-meshing metaphors were deliberated and the metaphors and categories used in the study were f inalized. Accordingly it was f ound out that teacher candidates created 53 metaphors about teacher and 62 metaphors about teaching prof ession. As a result, it was stated that teacher candidates had positive perceptions regarding teacher concept on the other hand they created some negative metaphors about teaching prof ession. The reason f or this was the thought that the teacher candidates perceived teaching as a hard, inappreciable and rigid prof ession.
