TÜRKİYE VE DÜNYADA DİŞ HEKİMLİĞİ YARDIMCILIĞI’NIN TARİHSEL SÜRECİ

Abstract

Öz:Diş hekimi yardımcılarının çeşitliliği, sayısı ve görevleri ülkelerin ağız sağlığı sorunları, ekonomik durumu, coğrafi konumu, sosyo-kültürel ve yasal koşullarına göre değişir. Genelde, diş hekimi yardımcıları, diş hekiminin etkinliği ve dental ofis verimliliğinin artmasında önemli bir göreve sahiptirler. Günümüzde, özellikle diş hekimliğinin çok gelişmiş olduğu ülkeler, çok düşük maliyetlerle daha kaliteli hizmet vererek koruyucu diş hekimliğini sağlayabilmeyi hedeflemektedir. Bu nedenle, özellikle gelişmiş ülkelerde, görev tanımı ve ismi farklı yardımcı personeller (dental hijyenist, dental hemşire, veya dental terapist gibi) diş hekimliğine dahil edilmeye başlanmıştır. Bu derlemede Türkiye ve dünyada diş hekimliği yardımcılığının tarihsel gelişim sürecinden bahsedilmiştir.

Abstract:The variety, number and tasks of of dental auxiliary vary according to oral health problems, economic status, geographical location, socio-cultural and legal conditions of countries. In general, dental auxiliary have an important role in increasing the efficiency of the dentist and increasing the efficiency of dental office. Nowadays, especially in countries where dentistry is highly developed, it aims to provide preventive dentistry by providing higher quality services at very low costs. For this reason, especially in developed countries, job definition and name of different auxiliary personnel(such as dental hygienist, dental nurse, or dental therapist) have begun to be included in dentistry. In the article have been mentioned in the historical development process of dental assistant in the Turkey and in the World.
