dc.description.abstract A novel variation of the coordinate transformation method with perturbation technique is given for solving the general problem of a frozen solid cooled by convection at a wall in contact with a throughly mixed liquid kept at a temperature above the freezing point. The present method differs from its predecessors in that the application of the coordinate transformation to the usual perturbation solution which allows the single perturbation solution for desired problem. The numerical results obtained by the present method are found to be in good agreement with those due to earlier authors. © 1989.
