dc.description.abstract Treatment of ovarian cysts remains a problem for gynecologists despite the different treatment modalities that are available. This prospective study included 19 patients (aged 16-34 years) who were treated with ultrasound guided aspiration; cyst diameter ranged from 6 to 16 cm (mean 8 cm). There were recurrent cysts in five of the 19 patients. The results indicate that in cases of benign ovarian cysts, ultrasound guided aspiration may be an alternative to other treatment modalities.
