dc.description.abstract Isolated recurrent splenic metastasis of epithelial ovarian cancer is extremely rare in the absence of apparent disease at other sites. There are only five case reports of isolated spleen parenchymal metastasis of epithelial ovarian cancer. Among gynecologic malignancies, the most common indication for splenectomy is ovarian cancer. Secondary debulking may improve survival in a few subsets of patients including isolated splenic metastasis. We present the case of a patient who developed an isolated recurrent solitary tumor in the spleen 5 1/4 years after undergoing initial therapy for a stage IIIC papillary serous adenocarcinoma of the ovary. Outcome and treatment of this condition are discussed.
