Abstract:
Metastatic malignant disease is the most common cause of mortality in prostate cancer. In this case, we present an interesting phenotype of prostatic adenocarcinoma with metastases to inguinal lymph nodes. We immunohistochemically detected the presence of prostate specific antigen, high molecular weight cytokeratin and chromogranin-A in the tumor cells. Both in primary tumor and in the metastatic component, the prostatic epithelial cells were positive for these three markers reflecting the amphicrine phenotype with pluripotent origin.
