Hydatid disease should be considered in the differential diagnosis
of any cystic mass in endemic areas. The symptoms due to
bulk effect, usually occurring over a certain period of time, depend
on the site and size of the cyst. We report an unusual presentation
of retroperitoneal hydatid cyst with rapidly developing
uremia and acute intestinal obstruction.
Endemik bölgelerde, kistik bir kitlenin ay›r›c› tan›s›nda kist hidatik
gözönünde tutulmal›d›r. Belli bir zaman diliminde geli-
flebilecek bas› semptomlar› ise kistin yerleflim yerine ve boyutuna
ba¤l›d›r. Bu olgu sunusunda retroperitoneal kist hidati¤in
neden oldu¤u h›zl› geliflen akut üremi ve intestinal obstrüksiyonu
sunduk.
