dc.description.abstract This study aims to reveal school administrators’ opinions on task priorities and the factors affecting their decision-making process. This study was designed in qualitative research pattern. The study group consists of 20 school principals working in Trabzon city centre during 2013-2014 academic year. Study group was determined by using maximum variation sampling technique. Data was obtained by using structured grid form which was developed by the researcher. Data was analysed by using descriptive analysis method. To perform school purposes is seen as the highest priority task by the school principals. School achievement, qualified education and teachers’ job satisfaction are seen as other task priorities in schools. The main factor mostly affecting decision-making process of school administrators is laws and regulations. School administrators state that the other factors affecting their decision-making process in schools are teachers’ and vice-principals’ opinions and suggestions, and the school’s educational aims. tr_TR
