The aim of this study is to evaluate primary school 2nd grade English teaching
program’ practicality and effectiveness according to the teachers’ views. The study was
implemented using semi-structured interview technique. The study has the
characteristics of a case study as a pattern. According to this perspective, the samples
of this study consist of English teachers of the primary school 2nd grade students in
Diyarbakır. The participants were selected with purposive sampling and maximum
variability sampling techniques. At the end of this study, it can be understood that
acquisitions aimed to be gained by the students in the program are applicable with
regards to the students’ evolution characteristics. But the contents are not appropriate
to the students’ evolution scales, the physical structure of schools is inadequate, the
teachers do not have enough information about the program and they need a jobtraining
seminar related to the new program.
