ABSTRACT
The aim of this study correlation between leg power and balance performance of elite wrestlers. In the
reserach group there are 20 elite Freestyle wrestlers at the age (19,09±0,30) years, with the height of
(163,46±7,33) cm and with the weight of (72,43±15,06) kg. Laboratory tests taken to determine height, weight,
star excursion balance test and isokinetic strength (Isomed 2000- Germany). Data obtained from the study are
submitted as mean and standard deviation. Test of normality is carried out by Shapiro-Wilk test. For all
parameters with normal distribution, Pearson Correlation Test is performed. Significance level is accepted as
p<0,05. İt is determined that there is statistically a meaningful correlate between the strength of the left leg
hamstring and quadriceps and the posterolateral balance and posteromedial balance performance of the left leg of
the wrestlers in the research group. Consequently, when the obtained data is evaluated, it seems that the strength
could be effective not in the balance performance of the right leg but in the balance performance of the left leg at
the strength values of the upper leg of the freestylers in the research group.
