dc.description.abstract Abstract This research aims to define some variables that had impact upon secondary school students’ achievements in science in 2015-2016 school year’s first and second terms TEOG exam by using non-experimental comparative method was used from quantitative research method. Appropriate sampling was used that It was nonselective sampling methods. The study sample consisted of 605 students who studied in 14 different secondary schools located in Altınordu district in Ordu. Data was collected through a survey designed by the researcher. The analysis included correlation between scores, independent t test to define the effect of two independent variables on a dependent variable, one way ANOVA to measure the impact on more than two independent variables on a dependent variable, and Scheffe test to determine the source of meaningful differences gathered from one way ANOVA. The analysis were done through SPSS 22. The results illustrated that variables including parents’ educational background, number of siblings, school type, having a private room at home, level of income are appeared to impact students’ achievement in TEOG exam. On the other hand, variables including, gender, staying in rented apartment are observed to have no effect on students’ TEOG exam. Keywords: TEOG Exam, Science Achievement, Variable tr_TR
