Malatya il merkezinde farklı sosyoekonomik koşullardaki iki ilköğretim okulu öğrencilerinde ruhsal uyum taraması

Abstract

Öz:Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, Malatya il merkezinde farklı sosyoekonomik koşullara sahip bölgelerde yer alan iki ilköğretim okulunda öğrencilerin ruhsal uyum düzeylerinin değerlendirilmesidir. Yöntem: Çalışma Kasım 2000-Aralık 2001 tarihleri arasında Malatya il merkezinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmaya yüksek sosyoekonomik koşul-lara sahip bölgede bulunan Gazi İlköğretim Okulu’ndan (GİO) 490, düşük sosyoekonomik koşullara sahip bölgede yer alan Hanımın Çiftliği İlköğretim Okulu’ndan (HÇİO) 386 olmak üzere 4.-8. sınıflardaki toplam 876 öğrenci alınmıştır. Sosyodemografik değişkenleri içeren bilgi formu ile birlikte öğrencilerin ruhsal uyumunu değerlendirmek amacıyla “Hacettepe Ruhsal Uyum Ölçeği (HRÖ)” kullanılmıştır. İstatiksel veriler Ki-kare ve Mann-whitney U testleri ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: HÇİO’da ortalama HRÖ puanı 9.75±6.13, GİO’da ise 9.68±6.36 bulun-muştur. Okullar arasında HRÖ puanları açısından anlamlı farklılık yoktur (p>0.05). HÇİO’da kekemelik, gece işemesi sorunları ve okul başarısızlığı anlamlı düzeyde yüksek iken, GİO’da tırnak yeme yaygınlığı anlamlı düzeyde yüksektir. Tartışma: Elde edilen bulgular sosyoekonomik koşullar ile ruhsal uyum arasındaki ilişkiyi değerlendirmekte yeterli olmamakla beraber, sosyoekonomik koşulların iyileştirilmesinin koruyucu ruh sağlığı açısından önemini vurgulamaktadır. Başlık (İngilizce):Psychological adaptation on the students who are in two different primary schools which have different socioeconomics conditions in Malatya province Öz (İngilizce):Objective: Psychological adaptation problems appear as results of developmental period difficulties of childhood and negative external environmental factors. The aim of this study is to evaluate the psychological adaptation levels of the students who are in two primary schools, located in two different regions of the city which have different socioeconomic conditions in Malatya province. Methods: This study was carried out at November 2000 - December 2001 in Malatya province. Totally 876 students, 490 students in 4-8 classes who have high socio economic conditions from Gazi Primary School (GPS) and 386 students in 4-8 classes who have low socioeconomics conditions from Hanimin Ciftligi Primary School (HCPS) included to study. Socio-demographic information form and Hacettepe Psychological Adaptation Scale (HPAS) used in order to evaluate the psychological adaptation of the sudents. Statistical analysis was evaluated with Khi square and Mann Whitney U tests. Results: HPAS point was found 9.75±6.13 in GPS and 9.68±6.36 in HCPS. There was no statistically significant difference among the HPAS points, between the schools (p>0.05). Prevalence of stammer, enuresis nocturna and the failure at school were high in HCPS, prevalence of nail biting was high in GPS (p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference among prevalence of tic, finger suction and encopresis between the schools (p>0.05). Discussion: Although this data is insufficient to evaluation of relationship between socio-economic conditions and psychological adaptation, it emphasize that to improve socioeconomic conditions is important for protection psychological health and to improve healthy ways of psychological adaptation of children.
