Abstract:
Öz:Bu araştırmada okuduğunu anlama güçlüğü olan bir öğrencinin, okuduğunu anlama becerilerini geliştirmede hikâye haritası yönteminin etkisi incelenmiştir. Araştırma ilköğretim 7. sınıftan araştırmanın amacına uygun olarak seçilen bir öğ-renci üzerinde yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın amacına uygun olarak seçilen öğrenciye, Türkçe ders kitabından düzeyine uygun olarak seçilen metinler okutulmuş, okutulan metin ile ilgili 3 tane basit anlama, 3 tane de derinlemesine anlama olmak üzere top-lam 6 tane okuduğunu anlama sorusu sorulmuştur. Öğrenci metni anlamada zorlan-dığı için alt sınıf düzeylerinden metinler okutulmuş, her metin ile ilgili okuduğunu anlama sorularını cevaplaması istenmiştir. Uygulama öncesi yapılan değerlendirme sonucunda öğrencinin okuduğunu anlama düzeyinin 7. sınıf seviyesinde %13, 6. sınıf seviyesinde %20 ve 5. sınıf seviyesinde %50 olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Öğrencinin okuduğunu anlama becerilerinin geliştirmek için sunulacak öğretime 5. sınıf seviye-sinden başlanmıştır. Hikâye haritası yöntemiyle 2.5 ay devam eden öğretimin son-cunda öğrencinin okuduğunu anlama becerilerinde gelişme olduğu görülmüştür.
Başlık (İngilizce):The Effect of Story Map Method on Reading Comprehension
Öz (İngilizce):In this study, the effect of story map method on improving of reading comprehension skills of a student having lack of reading comprehension. The study was carried out on a student, suitably selected according to the aim of the study, in seventh class. The selected student was required to read the passages which are suitable to his level in Turkish text book. He was asked totally six questions including 3 basic and 3 deep comprehension questions. He was required to read the sub-class level reading passages because he had difficulty in reading and he was required to answer the questions about each reading passages. In the result of assessment done before application, it was determined that the student’s reading comprehension level is %13 in the 7th class level, %20 in the 6th class level and %50 in the 5th class level. The teaching was started at the level of 5th class in order to improve the student’s reading comprehension skills. It was seen that there was an improvement in student’s reading comprehension skills in the result of teaching lasting 2.5 months with the method of story map.
