The etiopathogenesis of this clinical entity is not clear yet. Early interventions (antibiotherapy, cervical traction, and immobilization) are critical to avoid catastrophic outcome. Early detection of pediatric atlantoaxial subluxation is essential. It requires a combination of clinical assessment and appropriate radiographic imaging.
