Apricot shells could be gasified in a downdraft gasifier to produce clean gas with a calorific value of around 5.82 MJ/Nm3 and with a combustible fraction of 39% v/v. Low moisture (11.74%) and ash content (0.78%) are the main advantages of apricot pit shells for gasification. The gas is suitable for power generation in internal combustion engines.
