The qualitative case study design was used in this study. For this purpose, a total of 32 school songs in 9 textbooks approved by the Ministry of National Education for use in elementary and secondary school English lessons in the 2017-2018 academic year were examined. The songs were analyzed using the “Expert Evaluation Form” developed by the researchers within the scope of the document analysis method. As a result of the research, it was determined that generally the topics and contents were pedagogically appropriate, but the sound limits of the students were not considered appropriately while choosing the songs and there were prosody errors in the songs. In addition, it is suggested that the sound limits of the children should be taken into consideration while choosing the songs. © 2022. Milli Egitim.
