A Caldwell-Luc operation was subsequently performed on the left maxillary sinus and a greenish appearing material was removed. Microscopic examination of the tissue specimen showed a granulomatous tissue with typical cholesterol clefts and inflammatory changes consistent with chronic sinusitis.
