Genel tarama modelindeki bu araştırmanın evrenini Malatya ili Merkez ilçede bulunan ilköğretim ve orta öğretim okullarındaki öğretmenler; örneklemini ise bu evrenden seçkisiz olarak belirlenen 463 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, Öğretm enlerin Okuma Alışkanlıkları anketi kullanılmıştır. Veriler, Kay -Kare Testi (Chi-Square Test x2) ileanaliz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda, öğretmenlerin % 59?unun düzenli olarak kitap okumadığı; % 55.1?inin bir önceki yıl 5?den az kitap okuduğu; yeterince okumaya engel olan en önemli faktör olarak % 50.5 ile zaman bulamamayı, % 26.8 ile okuma alışkanlığının yetersiz olmasını gösterdikleri belirlenmiştir. The population of this general survey study consists of teachers from primary and high schools in the central district of M alatya; the sample consists of 463 teachers, randomly chosen from the population. "Teachers' Reading Habits" questionnaire was used as data collection tool. Data were analyzed using "Chi -Square Test X2.
