Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE), an active component of propolis extract, exhibits antioxidant properties. To determine whether CAPE offers any advantage över alpha-tocopherol, we compared their effects on an in vivo model of cerebral reperfusion injury in rats. CAPE at 10 u-mol/kg ör alpha-tocopherol at lOmg/kg was administered intraperitoneally before reperfusion. Acute administration of both CAPE and alpha-tocopherol altered the indices of oxidative stress differently, but CAPE seems to offer a therapeutic advantage över alpha-tocopherol in cerebral reperfusion injury.trinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessBiyokimyaBiochemistrySıçan beyninde oluşturulan iskemi/ reperfüzyon hasarına E vitamini ve Kafeik Asit Fenetil Ester (CAPE)'in etkileriThe Effects of vitamin E and Caffeic Acid Phenethyl Ester (CAPE) on reperfusion injury in the rat brainDoctoral Thesis
