Especially in marine building, factory, agricultural, and sewage concrete applications, the acid effect is important. In this study, especially the acid effect on alkali-activation concretes was focused. Deteriorating effect of acids, the characteristics of the acid environments, standards used to determine the acid resistance, and effects of acid on the properties of alkali-activated concretes were investigated. While increasing acid concentration and exposure time to acid increase the losses in the mechanical properties of alkali-activated concretes, methods such as adding additives and decreasing the alkaline solution/binder ratio have been used to reduce these losses. © 2022 Elsevier Ltd All rights reserved.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessAcid effectsAcid typesAlkali-activated concretePH effectAcid resistance of alkali-activated concreteBook Chapter47148710.1016/B978-0-323-85469-6.00020-92-s2.0-85129675018N/A
