Specifically, the extent to which textbook activities require students to form research problems, make data collection, data analyses, and draw conclusions was analyzed. A qualitative approach was utilized for this research and document and content analyses were used for data collection and analysis process. Results indicated that distributions of tasks, which involves forming research problems, making data collection, data analyses, and drawing conclusions, differ within grades and across grades. Besides, results showed that the textbooks provide limited opportunities for students to form research questions, collect real data, and draw conclusions.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDataMiddle school mathematics and science textbooksInvestigating data processing related tasks in middle school mathematics textbooksArticle182456110.17679/inuefd.323407
