The population of the study consisted of 90 students who study at the 1st and 2nd years of a high school in Erzurum and who smoke. The sample of the study included 75 volunteer students: 15 students in total are excluded from the study. The remaining 60 students were divided into the experimental (n=30) and control (n=30) groups using the simple random sampling method. The students in the experimental group were given Transtheoretical Model-based planned education, and students in the control group were not given any education.
