ÖZET Bu çalışmada, Beypazarı, Gölbaşı ve Kangal linyitleri 0.1 N HC1, %10 HC1, HC1-HF ön işlemlerine ve 200 °C hava oksidasyonuna tabi tutulmuştur. Ham ve ön işlem görmüş linyitler 11 farklı çözücü kullanılarak şişme oranları saptanmıştır. Ham ve ön işlem görmüş linyitler THF ile oda sıcaklığında ön şişirme işlemine tabi tutulmuştur. Ön şişmiş ve şişmemiş örneklerle, toluen ile soxhlet ekstraksiyon deneyleri yapılmıştır. HC1 ve HC1-HF ön işlemleri ile örneklerin kül içerikleri düşmektedir fakat toplam kükürt içerikleri artmaktadır. HC1-HF ön işleminde Kangal ve Gölbaşı linyitlerinin kül içerikleri tamama yakın giderilmiştir (Gölbaşı %98, Kangal %98). Ancak Beypazarı linyitinde %88 kül giderilmiştir. Ham örneklerde şişme değerleri hidrojen bağı yapabilen çözücülerde hidrojen bağı yapamayan çözücülere nazaran daha yüksek elde edilmiştir. 0.1 N HC1 ve %10 HC1 ön işlemi görmüş linyitlerin ham örneklere nazaran tüm çözücülerde şişme değerleri artmıştır. HC1-HF ön işlemi görmüş örneklerin şişme değerleri bütün örneklere nazaran artmıştır. Oksidasyon işlemiyle ise piridin ve 2-aminoetanol hariç diğer çözücülerde ham örneklere nazaran şişme değerleri değişmemiştir. Deneysel sonuçlar göstermektedir ki ekstraksiyon verimleri ön işlemler ile artmıştır. Ön şişmiş örneklerde ise ekstraksiyon verimleri ön şişmemiş örneklere nazaran tüm örneklerde artmıştır. IV ABSTRACT In this study, Beypazarı, Gölbaşı and Kangal lignites are subjected to a pretreatments with 0.1 N HC1, %10 HC1, HC1-HF and an oxidation in air at 200 °C. The swelling ratios of raw and pretreated samples have been determined in 11 different solvents. These samples have been subjected to an preswelling at room temperature by using THF. Also soxhlet extraction experiments have been carried out with swollen and unswollen samples, the ash content of the samples is reduced after HC1 pretreatment. While the total sulfur content increasing, the ash content of the samples reduced after HC1 and HC1-HF pretreatment. Approximately all the ash contents of Kangal and Gölbaşı lignites have been removed by HC1-HF pretreatment (Gölbaşı %98, Kangal %98). But only %88 of Beypazarı lignites' s ash content could be removed by using this metod. It is observed that the degree of swelling is higher in the solvents with hydrogen bonding than the solvent cannot make H-bondes. Compare to untreated lignites, the swelling values of lignites pretreated with 0.1 N HC1 and %10 HC1 increased in all the solvents. The swelling values of all the samples pretreated whit HC1-HF was higher than the other samples. Comparing with raw samples, the swelling values did not changed by oxidation, except pridine and 2-aminoetanol. Experimantal results show that extraction yields increase after pretreatments and it is higher in the preswollen samples. Key Words :Lignite, pretreatment, swelling, extraction, preswelling.
