Taxes are a significant tool to manage an country’s economy and affect total GDP. International financial crisis and the following economic recession have had a severe impact on tax incomes that led to substantial budget deficits. These deficits have not only resulted in fiscal problems but also monetary problems due to increasing inflation and current interest rate on government debt. Financial crisis automatically has decreased tax revenues and pumped up government expenditures particularly for cushioning unemployment and other social problems. Many governments have provided substantial support to the financial sectors in response to the crisis and have undertaken considerable budget initiatives in an attempt to get economic activity rolling again. Some governments have lurched into budget deficits of more than 10% of GDP, a scale of shortfall not normally seen in peacetime. That may simply both be an indication of the depth of the financial crisis and it may also be a sign that tax revenues have become more volatile, making it much harder for governments to meet their finance needs. The paper has concentrates on these problems and their analysis.
Vergiler ekonomiyi yönlendirmede ve GSMH’yi artırmada hükümetler için önemli bir araçtır. Uluslararası finansal kriz ve ekonomik durgunluk, vergi gelirleri üzerinde ciddi etkiler meydana getirmiştir. Bunun sonucu olarak ortaya çıkan bütçe açıkları, sadece mali sorunlara değil, aynı zamanda devlet borçları üzerindeki faiz ve enflasyon artışı nedeniyle parasal sorunlara da yol açmıştır.
