2008 yılında meydana gelen ekonomik krizin turizm açısından değerlendirilmesi: Türkiye’nin diğer akdeniz çanağı ülkelerine göre durumu

Abstract

It is seen that the global economic crisis which showed its effect from the summer of 2007, started in 2008 and affected all the world has been affecting the tourism movements worldwide negatively. The Mediterranean countries which is one of the important tourism destination of world are also affected more or less by this economic crisis. In this study, the Mediterranean countries’ levels of global economic crisis are taken into consideration. In this study, the data of tourists who have come to Turkey and other countries located in Mediterranean year by year is examined and the effects of economical crisis are exposed by evaluating the tourist arrivals, tourism incomes and tourism expenditures.The study evaluates the data obtained from the secondary datas from different tourism institutions and organizations. By the result of this evaluation, the tourist arrivals that come to the Mediterranean countries, tourism incomes and tourism expenditures are examined and the relation of these with economic crisis in recent years is evaluated.

2007 yılının yazından itibaren etkisini gösterip, 2008 yılında başlayan ve tüm dünyayı etkileyen küresel ekonomik krizin, dünya genelindeki turizm hareketlerini olumsuz yönde etkilediği görülmektedir. Dünyadaki önemli turistik destinasyonlardan birisi olan Akdeniz çanağındaki ülkeler de meydana gelen bu ekonomik krizden az veya çok etkilenmişlerdir. Bu çalışmada Akdeniz çanağındaki ülkelerin küresel ekonomik krizden etkilenme düzeyleri ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada, Türkiye ve Akdeniz çanağında bulunan diğer ülkelerin yıllar itibariyle gelen turist sayıları, turizm gelirleri ve turizm harcamaları değerlendirilerek, ekonomik krizin etkileri incelenmiştir. Araştırmada, turizmle ilgili çeşitli kurum ve kuruluşlardan elde edilen ikincil veriler kullanılmıştır. Değerlendirme neticesinde Akdeniz çanağında bulunan ülkelere gelen turist sayıları, turizm gelirleri ve turizm harcamalarındaki değişimin son yıllarda yaşanan ekonomik krizle bağlantıları ortaya konulmuştur.
