Further need for regional ıntegrations: It’s time for the most difficult (or the easiest) one - the middle east

Abstract

Through the regional economic and political integrations, developing states may reach the ability to counter the negative consequences of the liberalization. Taking a greater responsibility and power in the regional institutions can be an effective antidote against the global financial and economic crises. In this respect, regional integrations should have the greater role in the decision making structures of the Bretton Woods Institutions (BWIs), to create a fair and equitable free trade system in the world. European Union (EU) succesfully accomplished economic and monetary union and established a great interdependency among the European nations. Interdependency is the guarantee of the peace, prosperity and well distributed welfare. To repeat the same success in the Middle East may not be difficult. The establishment of an effective regional integration in the Middle East may contribute to the economic and political stability of the world. This integration could also help to establish global economic balance.

Gelişmekte olan ülkeler, bölgesel ekonomik ve politik bütünleşmeler yoluyla liberalleşmenin olumsuz sonuçlarına karşı koyabilecek yeteneğe ulaşabilirler. Bölgesel kurumlarda daha fazla sorumluluk ve güç elde etmek, küresel mali ve ekonomik krizlere karşı etkili bir çare olabilir. Bu bağlamda, dünyada daha adil ve eşitlikçi bir serbest ticaret sistemi oluşturmak için, Bretton Woods kurumlarının karar alma organlarında bölgesel bütünleşmeler daha fazla rol almalıdır. Avrupa Birliği, ekonomik ve parasal birliği başarıyla tamamlamış ve Avrupa ulusları arasında büyük bir karşılıklı bağımlılık kurmuştur. Karşılıklı bağımlılık, barış, refah ve dengeli dağıtılmış bir refahın garantisidir. Ortadoğu’da da aynı başarıyı tekrarlamak mümkün olabilir. Ortadoğu’da etkili bir bölgesel bütünleşmenin kurulması, dünyanın ekonomik ve politik istikrarına büyük bir katkı sağlayabilir. Bu bütünleşme, küresel ekonomik dengenin sağlanmasına da yardım edebilir.
