Abstract

Öz:Periferik sinir tutulumu lepranın değişik tipleri için sabit bir bulgu olarak bilinir. Beşinci ve 7. si¬nirlerin de tutuluyor olması geçmişte bazı otörleri hastalığın 8. sinir üzerine etkilerini araştırmaya zorla¬mıştır. Bununla birlikte hala leprada kokleovestibüler fonksiyonların durumu hakkında çok az şey bilin¬mektedir ve bu konuda çalışan az sayıdaki otörün çalışmalarında fikir birliği yoktur. Bu çalışmada 8. si¬nir tutulumunu araştırmak için 30 lepralı hasta tam bir odyovestibüler testten geçirilip sonuçlar 15 nor¬mal hastanın test sonuçları ile karşılaştırıldı. Hastaların 23% ünde sensörinöral işitme kaybı saptandı. Koklear tutulumu gösteren Metz recruitment, SİSİ, gürültüden rahatsız olma gibi ENG sonuçlan, normaldi Vestibüler test sonuçları, patolojik ENG trasesi olan dört hastanın sonuçlan ile birlikte değerlendirildiğin¬de Lepralı hastalarda retrokoklear tutulum olabileceği sonucuna vardık.

Abstract:Peripherie nerve involvement is known to be a constant finding in differenet types of lep¬rosy. The involvement of the 5th and 7th cranial nerves lead some authors to investigate the affects of the disease on 8th nerve in the past, however, still little is known for the status of the cochleovestibular function and the authors of the few studies on the subject are not in agreement To investigate the 8th nerve involvement, 30 patients with leprosy disease undergone a complete audiovestibular test battery and the results are compared to the results of 15 normal subjects. 23% of the patients head sensorineu-ral hearing loss. The results of Metz Recruitment, SIS, Loudnes tolerance show that cochlear involvement does not exist. We conclude that, vestibular test results and the pathologic ENG findings offourpatinets when evaluated together with the audiologic findings, there may be a retrocochlear involvement in Lep¬rosy patients.
