A case of heterotopic pregnancy with anembrionic intrauterin component and expectant management

Abstract

Öz:Heterotopik gebelik aynı anda intrauterin ve ekstra uterin gebeliğin birlikte bulunduğu oldukça nadir rastlanan bir durumdur. Bununla birlikte ovulasyon indüksiyonu ve yardımcı üreme tekniklerindeki gelişme insidansını arttırmaktadır. Olgu 34 yaşında klomifenle indüksiyon sonrası ektopik gebelik ön tanısı ile hospitalize edildi. Intrauterin komponenti anembrionik gebelik olarak sonuçlanan ve D&C yapılan, ektopik gebeliğide düşük beta-hCG seviyeleri, klinik semptomların hafif olması göz önüne alınarak müdahalesiz izlenen heterotopik gebelik olgusu literatür gözden geçirilerek sunulmuştur.

Abstract:Heterotopic pregnancy or simultaneous intrauterine and extrauterine gestation is a relatively rare condition. However, treatment for ovulation induction or superovulation for assisted reproductive technologies (ART) have dramatically increased the incidence of this condition. We report a rare case of heterotopic pregnancy (tubal and intrauterine) occurring in a 34-year old woman after ovulation induction. Due to low beta-hCG-levels and lack of clinical symptoms, in which expectant management was performed. Advantages and disadvantages of the procedure are discussed.
