USING THE WEBLOG IN THE TURKISH WRITING SKILLS AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract

Öz:The aim of this research is to determine the effect of writing skills training with weblog on the writing skills of B2 level students learning Turkish as a foreign language. The main problem of researching for this purpose is: Is there a meaningful difference between the writing skills of the students who are given the writing skills training with weblog and the writing skills of the students who are not given this training with weblog at B2 level? In the mixed-research design study, pre-test and post-test control group semi-experimental design was used for the quantitative part. In the qualitative part, opinions of students about differentiated teaching were taken. The study group consisted of 28 students at B2 level who learned Turkish at İnönü University Turkish Education Center in spring semester of 2016-2017 academic year. Quantitative data were analyzed by SPSS program and qualitative data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. As a result of the research, the weblog applied to the experimental group was found to be effective in improving the writing skills of the students. It was determined that the scores of the students in the experimental group were significantly different from the writing skill activities in the Yunus Emre Institute Turkish Instruction Set B2 Course Book and the writing skills scores of the students who were given writing education. The qualitative data of the research revealed that students found blogging fun and creative, and that students participating in the blog project would continue to write blogs later.

Abstract:Bu araştırmanın amacı, weblog ile yazma becerisi eğitiminin yabancı dil olarak Türkçe öğrenen B2 düzeyi öğrencilerinin yazma becerilerine olan etkisini belirlemektir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmanın temel problemi şöyledir: B2 düzeyinde weblog ile yazma becerisi eğitiminin verildiği öğrencilerin yazma becerileri ile bu eğitimin verilmediği öğrencilerin yazma becerileri arası nda anlamlı bir fark var mıdır? Karma araştırma desenli araştırmada nicel kısım için ön test - son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen kullanılmıştır. Nitel kısımda ise yapılan farklılaştırılmış öğretime ilişkin öğrenci görüşleri alınmıştır. Çalışma grub unu İnönü Üniversitesi Türkçe Eğitim Merkezi’nde 2016 - 2017 eğitim öğretim yılı bahar yarıyılında Türkçe öğrenen B2 düzeyinde 28 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Nicel verilerin analizi SPSS programı ile nitel verilerin analizi ise betimsel analiz ile gerçekleştirilm iştir. Araştırma neticesinde deney grubuna uygulanan weblog ile uygulanan yazma eğitiminin öğrencilerin yazma becerisini geliştirmede etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Deney grubu öğrencilerinin yazma becerisi puanlarının, Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Türkçe Öğ retim Seti B2 Ders Kitabında yer alan yazma becerisi etkinlikleri ile yazma eğitimi verilen öğrencilerin yazma becerisi puanlarından anlamlı şekilde farklı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırmanın nitel verileri öğrencilerin blog kullanımını eğlenceli ve yar atıcı bulduklarını ve blog projesine katılan öğrencilerin daha sonra da blog yazmaya devam edeceğini belirttiklerini ortaya koymuştu r.
