Üniversite öğrencilerinin eğitimsel amaçlarına ulaşmalarını etkileyen etkenlere ilişkin görüşleri

Abstract

Bu makale kapsamlı bir araştırmanın bir bölümünü oluşturmaktadır. Bu makalenin temel amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin eğitimsel amaçlarına ulaşmalarını etkileyen etkenlere ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemektir. Araştırma verileri, 13 devlet üniversitesinde, birinci ve son sınıf öğrencisi toplam 1839 kişiden toplanmıştır. Araştırmada “Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Beklentileri ve Sorunları” adlı ölçek kullanılmıştır. Ölçekte sıralama ve derecelendirmeye dönük maddeler ve açık uçlu sorular yer almaktadır. Bu araştırmada ölçeğin “eğitimsel amaçlara ulaşmayı etkileyen etkenlerin önemi” ve “eğitimsel amaçlara ulaşmayı etkileyen etkenler açısından bölümün Kalitesi”ni ölçen, aynı soru kökünden oluşan yirmi altı maddelik alt ölçekler kullanılmıştır. Bu iki alt ölçeğin Cronbach Alpha Güvenirlik Katsayısı 0,91 iken ölçeğin tümünün Cronbach Alpha Güvenirlik Katsayısı 0,89 bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre öğrenciler, eğitimsel amaçlara ulaşmadaki etkenlerden “öğretimin Kalitesi”ni en yüksek oranda (%95,2) önemli görmektedir. Öğrencilerin %29,5’i öğretimin kalitesini “az”, “zayıf” ya da “çok zayıf”; %66,9’u “iyi” ya da “mükemmel” görmektedir. Öğrencilerin, öğretimin kalitesini zayıf bulma nedenlerinin başında “öğretim elemanlarının ilgisizliği, coşkusuzluğu” bulunmaktadır.

This study is a part of a larger research project. The main purpose of this article is to identify university students’ opinions affecting their achievement of educational goals. The research data was collected from 1839 first-year and fourth-year students in 13 state universities. "The scale of Expectations and Problems of University Students" was used for the study. Subscales consisting of 26 items with the same root were used in this research to determine the "significance of the factors affecting the achievement of the educational goals" and "the quality of the department in terms of the factors affecting the achievement of the educational goals". The Cronbach’s Alpha Reliability Coefficient of these two subscales is 0.91, and the Cronbach’s Alpha Reliability Coefficient of the whole scale is 0.89. According to the results of the survey, students think that “the quality of instruction" is the most important factor (95.2%) to reach the educational goals. While 29.5 % of the students think the quality of instruction is "low", "poor" and "very poor", 66.9% think that it is "good" or "excellent". The main reason why the students think that the quality of instruction is poor is that "the faculty members lack concern and enthusiasm".
