dc.description.abstract Biographic studies provide long term perspectives on leadership, learning of leadership attributes and its development. It is clear that life story of a leader is an important source of information that provides followers with information about the traits and behaviors of the leader. Thus, the current study seeks to offer an in-depth look at transformational leader attributes of Hasan Ali Yücel, one of the prominent intellectuals of the Republican period in history of Turkey, from the perspective of Bass and Avolio (1993). Based on the public documents (e.g., archival materials, books and journals written by Yücel and other authors), biographies, photographs and speeches, four general frames of transformational leadership; idealized influence and charisma, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration were handled to reveal transformational leader characteristics of Hasan Ali Yücel. tr_TR
