Industrial Revolution which began in England in 18th century changed nearly all fields of occupation, and the life style
of the society. One of the initiators of these production fields was pottery. This field, which had been just a simple craft
previously, transformed from bottom to feet. British ceramist Josiah Wedgwood (1730-1795), the leader of this
transformation, was a pioneer not only in his own sector but also in the Industrial Revolution as a whole. At his main
Staffordshire factory, Etruria, he applied the principles of the division of labour espoused by his contemporary, Adam
Smith. Meanwhile he also realized unusual methods of sales and marketing for the alluring goods he produced. He
totally transformed the face of the ceramic art and fulfilled all of these along with an injured, and afterwards a wooden,
leg.
