Sağlık Yüksekokulu öğrencileri arasındaki depresyon sıklığı ve ilişkili etkenler

Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışma, Sağlık Yüksekokulu öğrencileri arasındaki depresyon sıklığını ve etkileyen etkenleri belirle­mek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Araştırma tanımlayıcı tipte bir araştırmadır. Çalışmaya katılan 236 öğrencinin 193'ü kız, 43'ü erkektir. Veriler anket yöntemiyle toplanmış, depresyon düzeyini saptamak için Beck Depresyon Ölçeği (BDÖ) kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin %81.8'i kız, %18.2'si erkek; yaş ortala­maları 20.75+2.30 yıldır. Öğrencilerin BDÖ ortalama puanı ebelik öğrencilerinde 9.06+7.54, hemşirelik öğrenci­lerinde 11.48+9.47, sağlık memurluğu öğrencilerinde 10.77+10.67 olarak bulunmuştur. Kız öğrencilerinin BDÖ ortalama puanı 11.08+9.22, erkek öğrencilerin 9.79+10.12 olarak saptanmıştır. Öğrencilerin %25.4'ü BDÖ'den 17 ve üzerinde puan almıştır. Depresyon belirtileri negatif aile tutumları ve ebeveynleri düşük eğitim düzeyine sahip olan öğrenciler arasında önemli derecede yüksek bulunmuştur (p<0.05). Tartışma: Sonuç olarak, öğrencilerin dörtte birinde depresyon belirtileri görülmüştür ve diğer çalışmalarla benzerlik göstermektedir.

Objective: The aim of the study is to determine the depressive symptom frequency among students of Malatya Health High School with the associated factors. Methods: This is a descriptive study. Two hundred and thirty six students (male+female) were participated in the study. The data were obtained by a self-reported questionnaire and the Beck Depression Inventory was used to determine the depression level. Results: Of the participated students, 81.8% were girl and 18.2% were men. The average age of the students was 20.75+2.30 years. Mean depression scores were 9.06+7.54 among midwifery, 11.48+9.47 among nurse, 10.77+10.67 among health officials' students. The mean depression score among women was 11.08+9.22 and 9.79+10.12 among men. Of the students, 25.4% had a depression score over 17. Depressive symptoms were significantly higher among students with negative family attitude and lower parent education (p<0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, one fourth of the students showed depressive symptoms, and similar to the literature.
