General Süleymani Suikastının Türk Ulusal Basınında Sunumu

Abstract

Ortadoğu’da meydana gelen gelişmeler çoğu zaman tüm dünyanın dengesini değiştirmekte ve yönlendirmektedir. Yüzyıllardır savaşların gölgesinde varlığını sürdüren bu coğrafyanın dünya siyasetinde önemli yer bulması çıkar çatışmalarını doğurmaktadır. 11 Eylül2001 saldırısından sonra kilometrelerce uzakta olsa da Ortadoğu’nun birçok noktasında askeri üssü olan Amerika Birleşik Devletleri’nin (ABD) buradaki gelişmelerle ilgili önemli derecede söz hakkı bulunduğu bir gerçektir. Ancak bu durumdan hoşnut olmayan ülkelerin başında İran gelmektedir. ABD ile İran, tarihsel süreç içerisinde kimi olay ve gelişmeler nedeniyle sık sık karşı karşıya gelmiştir. İki ülke arasında en son gerginliğe sebep olan olay ise, 3 Ocak 2020 tarihinde yaşanmıştır. Bu tarihte, İran Devrim Muhafızları Ordusu Kudüs Gücü Komutanı General Kasım Süleymani, ABD Başkanı Donald Trump’ın talimatıyla suikasta kurban gitmiştir. Yeni yıla girer girmez bu olayın meydana gelmiş olması tüm dünyanın gözünün Ortadoğu’ya çevrilmesini sağlamış ve “Üçüncü dünya savaşı mı çıkıyor?” sorusunun sorulmasına neden olmuştur. Bu suikastın doğurabileceği sonuçlardan en çok etkilenecek ülkelerden birinin de Türkiye olması suikastın ulusal basında önemli derecede yer bulmasını sağlamıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Süleymani suikastının Türk ulusal basınında nasıl ve ne kadar yer aldığını analiz etmektir. Bu anlamda 26 ulusal gazetenin olay gününü takiben 4-8 Ocak 2020 tarihleri arasında konuya yaklaşımları nicel içerik analizi ve söylem analizi yöntemleriyle incelenmiştir. Analiz sonucunda Türk ulusal basınının birinci sayfa haberlerinde konuya önemli derece yer ayırdığı görülmüştür.

Developments of occurring in the Middle East most of the time changs the balanceof the whole world and directs. This geography, which has been in the shadow of wars forcenturies, has an important place in world politics and this creates conflicts of interest. After theSeptember 11, 2001 attack, it is a fact that the United States (USA), which has a military base inmany parts of the Middle East has a significant say about the developments here, although it ismiles away. But Iran at the top of the countries that is not satisfied with this situation. Because ofsome events and developments US and Iran often confronted in the historical process. The eventthat caused the latest tension between the two countries occurred on 3 January 2020. On this dateIranian Revolutionary Guards Army Quds Force commander General Qassem Soleimani wasassassinated by instructions of US President Donald Trump. This event which occurring in theearly New Year turned attention of the whole world into the Middle East. This situation caused thequestion to be asked: "Is the third world war coming out?". Turkey was one of the countries thatwill be most affected because of the implications of this assassination and this situation enabledthis assassination to have a significant place in the national press. The aim of this study is toanalyze how and how much the Soleimani assassination took place in the Turkish national press.In this sense, following the day of the incident, between 4-8 January 2020, 26 national newspapers'approach to the issue investigated by quantitative content analysis and discourse analysis method.As a result of the analysis, it was observed that devotes a lot of attention to this subject in the firstpage news of the Turkish national press.
