Bu çalışmanın amacı Giresun ve Trabzon illerinde ortaöğretim kurumlarında ders dışı
sportif etkinliklere katılan öğrencilerin sosyo-ekonomik yapılarının ve sportif etkinlik
tercihlerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada nicel çalışma deseni kapsamında tarama (survey)
yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Giresun ilinden 280 ve Trabzon ilinden 320
öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Anket formundan elde edilen veriler frekans ve yüzde olarak
sunulmuştur. Kategorik değişkenler Ki Kare analiz yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma
bulgularına göre; Öğrencilerin çoğunluğu ailelerini ekonomik olarak orta düzeyde gördüklerini
belirtmişlerdir. Her iki ilde de öğrencilerin sportif tercihleri futbol, voleybol, basketbol
branşlarında yoğunlaşmıştır. Cinsiyet ve spor dalı değişkenleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki
bulunmuştur (p< .05). Öğrencilerin katıldıkları sportif etkinlikler ile anne ve baba eğitim
durumları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur (p< .05). Araştırmanın örnekleminden elde
edilen bulgulara göre her iki şehirdeki aileler arasında sosyo-ekonomik açıdan çok büyük
farklılıklar bulunmamaktadır. Kız öğrencilerin sportif aktivitelere daha fazla dahil edilmesi ve
branş çeşitliliğinin artırılması gerekmektedir.
The aim of study was to invetigation states of socio – economic status of high school
students who participating in school-based extracurricular sports activities in Giresun and
Trabzon. The qualitative research design was used in the study,. The sample of study consisted
280 students living in Giresun and 320 students living in Trabzon. The data obtained from the
questionnaire were presented as frequency and percentage. Categorical variables were analyzed
by Chi square analysis method. The majority of students have shown their families
economically at moderate level. The sports preferences of students are concentrated in football,
volleyball and basketball in both cities. There was a significant relationship between gender and sport variables (p< .05). There was a significant relationship between sportive activities
attended by students and parental education status in both cities (p< .05). According to the
information obtained from the sample of the study, there was a no big differences between
socio-economically between the families in both cities. It has emerged that girls are more
involved in such activities and that the diversity of the branches has to be increased.
