Bu araştırmanın amacı; Tip 1 diyabet tanısı almış ergenler ile Tip 1 diyabet tanısı almamış ergenlerin depresyon, anksiyete ve umutsuzluk düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığını; Tip 1 diyabet tanısı almış ergenlerin depresyon, anksiyete ve umutsuzluk düzeyleri ile bazı demografik (cinsiyet, yaş ve tanı alma süresi) özellikleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olup olmadığını incelemektir. Araştırmanın evrenini Diyarbakır Çocuk Hastalıkları Hastanesi Endokrinoloji Polikliniğine başvuran 12-18 yaş arası Tip 1 diyabet hastaları, Diyarbakır İli Ziya Gökalp Anadolu Lisesinde öğrenim gören öğrenciler, Akşemsettin Ortaokulu 7. ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerinden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini belirlemek için diyabetikler için basit rastgele, diyabetik olmayanlar için ise tabakalı rastgele örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu; Diyarbakır Çocuk Hastalıkları Hastanesi Endokrinoloji Polikliniğine başvuran 12-18 yaş arası 85 Tip 1 diyabetli birey; Diyarbakır İli Ziya Gökalp Anadolu Lisesinde öğrenim gören öğrenciler ile Akşemsettin Ortaokulu 7. ve 8. sınıf öğrencisi 131 diyabetli olmayan öğrenci olmak üzere toplam 216 katılımcı oluşturmuştur. Katılımcıların 121'i kadın ve 95'i erkektir. Katılımcılara Çocuklar İçin Depresyon Ölçeği, Beck Anksiyete Ölçeği, Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği ve kişisel bilgi formu uygulanmıştır. Uygulanan bu ölçeklerden elde edilen verilere bağlı olarak tanımlayıcı istatistiki yöntemler ve iki grubu karşılaştırmada bağımsız örneklem t-Testi tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda; Tip 1 diyabetli ergenlerde depresyonun cinsiyet, yaş grubu ve tanı alma süresi değişkenlerine göre farklılaşmadığı, anksiyetenin cinsiyet ve tanı alma değişkenlerine göre farklılaştığı ancak yaş grubu değişkenine göre farklılaşmadığı, umutsuzluğun cinsiyet, yaş grubu ve tanı alma süresine göre farklılaşmadığı ortaya çıkmıştır. Tip 1 diyabet tanısı almış ve Tip 1 diyabet tanısı almamış ergenlerin depresyon, anksiyete ve umutsuzluk düzeyleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir fark olduğu saptanmıştır. Araştırma verilerinden elde edilen bulgular alanyazın doğrultusunda yorumlanmış, araştırmacılara ve uygulamacılara yönelik önerilerde bulunulmuştur. The aim of this research; whether there is a significant difference between the levels of depression, anxiety and hopelessness among adolescents with type 1 diabetes and those without type 1 diabetes; The aim of this study was to investigate whether there is a significant relationship between depression, anxiety and hopelessness levels and some demographic characteristics (gender, age and time of diagnosis) of adolescents with type 1 diabetes. The universe of the study consisted of type 1 diabetes patients aged between 12-18 years, admitted to Diyarbakır Pediatric Hospital Endocrinology Polyclinic, students studying in Ziya Gökalp Anatolian High School in Diyarbakır Province, and 7th and 8th grade students of Akşemsettin Middle School. The students of Ziya Gökalp Anatolian High School in Diyarbakır Province and Akşemsettin Secondary School 7th and 8th grade students consist of 216 non-diabetic students. 121 of the participants were female and 95 were male. Depression Scale for Children, Beck Anxiety Scale, Beck Hopelessness Scale and personal information form were applied to these individuals. Depending on the data obtained from these scales, descriptive statistical methods and independent samples t-Test technique were used to compare the two groups. As a result of the research; Depression did not differ according to gender, age group and duration of diagnosis in adolescents with type 1 diabetes. It was found that anxiety was differentiated according to gender and diagnostic variables but did not differ according to age group, and hopelessness did not differ according to gender, age group and duration of diagnosis. There was a statistically significant difference between the levels of depression, anxiety and hopelessness among adolescents with type 1 diabetes and without type 1 diabetes. The findings obtained from the research data were interpreted according to the literature; recommendations were made for researchers and practitioners.
