Öz:Milli Edebiyat’tan Cumhuriyet sonrasına uzanan dönemde şair ve mizah yazarı kimlikleriyle öne çıkmış Yusuf Ziya Ortaç’ın altı romanı bulunmaktadır. Onun bu romanları; şiir, tiyatro, hatıra, gezi ve fıkra türlerinde yazdıklarının gölgesinde kalmış, edebiyat tarihlerinde sanatçının edebi portresini tamamlayan bir ayrıntı olmaktan öteye geçememiştir. Her romanında farklı meseleleri ele alan sanatçının bu türü çoğunlukla duygu ve düşünce dünyasını tamamlamak, edebiyat gündeminin içinde kalmak için tercih ettiği dikkat çeker. Mizah unsurlarını ön plana çıkaran Meşhedi Ankara’da, otobiyografik özellikler barındıran Göç, toplumsal değişimin aile hayatına yansımalarını nesil çatışması üzerinden anlatan Üç Katlı Ev, biyografik roman formundaki İsmet İnönü Bir Hayatın Romanı, Tanzimat anlatılarına da işlenmiş merhamet temasını ele alan Şeker Osman ve aşk teması etrafında şekillenen Kürkçü Dükkânı romanları, bütünlüklü bir Yusuf Ziya Ortaç portresinin parçalarıdır. Bu romanlar, Ortaç’ın mizah yazarlığı yönünü pekiştirmekte, toplumsal meselelere duyarlığını ortaya koymakta, kendi hayatından izler taşımakta, şiirlerinin de önemli temalarından biri olan aşk unsurunu ele almakta, yaşadığı ve eser verdiği dönemin edebi yönelişlerini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışmada Yusuf ziya Ortaç’ın romanları –her biri farklı üslup ve içeriğe sahip olduğu için- öncelikle ayrı ayrı incelenecek, her romanda öne çıkan yapısal ve içerik odaklı unsurlar değerlendirilecek ve bu incelemelerin ortaya çıkardığı genel görünüm anlatılmaya çalışılacaktır. Romanların tematik ve yapısal bakımdan birbirini tamamlayan, bir bütünü yansıtan üslup ve içerikle yazılıp yazılmadığı da tartışılacaktır.
Abstract:Yusuf Ziya Ortaç, who stands out for his poetic and humorous works that he had during the time embracing the National Literature and post Republican periods, authored six novels. These novels fell behind his other works, which appeared in the form of poetry, drama, memoir, travel literature, and wit. These novels have had no greater impact than being a series of details that complements his literary career. It can be noticed that the author, who discussed various topics in each of his novels, preferred this form of literature to reflect his emotions and thoughts, and to keep up with the current literary issues of that time. These novels, which are also part of the image of Yusuf Ziya Ortaç, are as follows: Meşhedi Ankara’da (Meşhedi in Ankara), which is generally a humorous novel; Göç (Immigration), which is in the form of autobiography; Üç Katlı Ev (The Three-Storey House), a novel that explains the societal changes in family life upon a conflict of generations; İsmet İnönü: Bir Hayatın Romanı (Ismet Inonu: A Story of a Life), which is in the form of biography; Şeker Osman (Sweet Osman), a novel treating the theme of mercy which can also be seen in Tanzimat (a period in Turkish literature) narratives; and Kürkçü Dükkanı (The Furrier’s Shop) which is shaped by the theme of love. These novels not only reinforce his humorist author personality, but also reveal his social consciousness, reflect his own life, deal with the theme of love which is an important part of his poetry, and demonstrate the literary trends of his time. Since each has its own form and content, Yusuf Ziya Ortaç’s novels are initially analyzed separately in this study. Then, the form- and content-based parts in each of the novels are examined, and the overall picture drawn by this investigation is explained. It is also discussed whether the novels are written in such a form and content that integrate with the theme or not.
