Türkiye'de kekik olarak yaygın şekilde kullanılan Origanum cinsine ait taksonların sayısı yeni ilavelerle 25'e ulaşmıştır. Özellikle birbirine yakın taksonların ayırt edilmesinde güçlük yaşanmaktadır. Bu taksonların anatomik özelliklerine göre ayırt edilebilmesi için detaylı bir çalışma yapılmıştır. Türkiye'de doğal olarak yetişen 24 adet Origanum taksonuna ait örnekler anatomik olarak incelenmiştir. Gövde ve yapraktan alınan enine kesitler fotoğraflanmıştır. Anatomik özelliklerde taksonları ayırt etmede faydalı olan karakterler örtü tüyü, salgı tüyü, alt ve üst epdermanın şekli, hücre sayısı, büyüklüğü, stoma tipi, stoma komşu hücreleri sayısı, kristal, kutikula çıkıntısı, iletim demeti genişliği, destek doku hücresi tipi, destek doku tabakası sayısıdır. Türkiye'de yetişen bütün Origanum türleri için morfolojik ayırım anahtarına destek ve alternatif niteliğinde bir anatomik ayırım anahtarı oluşturulmuştur. Özellikle morfolojik karakterler bakımından eksik toplanmış örneklerin teşhisinde faydalı olması beklenmektedir.
The number of taxa belonging to the genus Origanum, commonly used as oregano, reached to 25 with new additions in Turkey. In particular, there are difficulties in distinguishing closely allied taxa. A detailed study has been carried out in order to distinguishing these taxa according to anatomical characteristics. In this study, 24 taxa of Origanum naturally growing in Turkey, is examined anatomically. Cross-sections taken from the stem and leaves are illustrated. Anatomical features characters that are useful in distinguishing between taxa are covering hairs, glandular hairs, upper and lower epidermis shape, cell number, size, type of stomata, number of neighboring cells of stomata, crystal, cuticle overhang, width of vascular bundle, supporting tissue cell type, the number of layer of support tissue. For all Origanum species growing in Turkey, to support the morphological differentiation key, the alternative distinctive anatomical key is established. It is especially expected to be useful for the determination of specimens were incomplete collected in terms of morphological characters.
