Eğitim fakültesi öğrencilerinin öğretim elemanlarının öğretimsel yeterliklerine ilişkin algıları ve öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumları arasındaki ilişki

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı; İnönü Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencilerinin; derslerine giren öğretim elemanlarının öğretimsel yeterliklerine ilişkin algılarını ve öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek ve bu ikisi arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemektir. Araştırma hem ilişkisel hem tarama modelinde tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini 2014-2015 eğitim öğretim yılında İnönü Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi'nde öğrenim gören 4383 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini uygun örnekleme yöntemine göre seçilen 1075 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen "Öğretim Elemanı Öğretimsel Yeterlik Ölçeği" ve Üstüner (2006) tarafından geliştirilen "Öğretmenlik Mesleğine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği" ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmada, öğrenim görülen program, cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi ve öğretim türü bağımsız değişkenlerine ilişkin analizler yapılmıştır. Araştırmada elde edilen verilerin analizinde SPSS 21.0 ve Amos 18 paket programlarından faydalanılmıştır. Araştırmanın alt problemlerinin cevap bulmak amacıyla; betimsel istatistik hesaplamaları, t-testi, ANOVA testi, Dunnett's C testi, Mann-Whitney U testi, Kruskall-Wallis testi yapılmış ve Spearman korelasyon katsayısı hesaplanmıştır. Yapılan analizler sonucunda, İnönü Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencilerinin; derslerine giren öğretim elemanlarının öğretimsel yeterliklerine ilişkin algılarının "orta" , öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarının ise, "çok" düzeyinde olduğu tespit edilmiştir . Ayrıca öğrencilerin; öğretim elemanlarının öğretimsel yeterliklerine ilişkin algıları ile öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumları arasında pozitif yönlü düşük düzeyde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır (r=.206; p<.05). Araştırma kapsamında, öğrencilerin öğretim elemanlarına ilişkin yeterlik algısı ve öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumları farklı değişkenler (öğrenim görülen program, cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi, öğretim türü) açısından incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, birinci sınıfta öğrenim gören öğrencilerin öğretim elemanlarının öğretimsel yeterliklerine ilişkin algılarının iki, üç ve dördüncü sınıflara kıyasla anlamlı şekilde yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca üçüncü sınıfta öğrenim gören öğrencilerin öğretmenlik mesleğine yönelik tutumlarının diğer sınıflara kıyasla daha düşük olduğu ve kız öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilere kıyasla mesleğe yönelik daha olumlu tutuma sahip oldukları tespit edilmiştir.

The purpose of this research is to determine the İnönü University Faculty of Education students' perceptions about their instructors' instructional competencies and students' attitudes towards teaching profession and to investigate the relationship between those two. This research was designed in both correlational and survey model. The population of the research is 4383 students studying at the İnönü University Faculty of Education in 2014-2015 academic year. The sample of the research is 1075 students selected according to the convenience sampling. The data of the research was collected by using the "Instructor's Instructional Competence Scale" which is developed by the researcher and the "Attitude Scale of Teaching Profession" developed by Üstüner (2006). In this research, analyses made for the department, gender, grade and education type independent variables. SPSS 21.0 and Amos 18 statistical softwares were used in the analysis of the collected data. In order to answer the sub-problems of the research, descriptive statistics, t-test, One-Way ANOVA, Dunnett's C test, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskall-Wallis test and Spearman correlation analysis was used. As a result of the analyses made, attitude level of the İnonu University Faculty of Education students' towards their instructors' instructional competencies is found out as "moderate" (𝐗�𝐗������=3.14) level. Students' attitudes towards teaching profession is found out as "high" (𝐗�𝐗������=3.86) level. Also positive and low level of correlation has been determined between the students' perceptions about their instructors' instructional competencies and students' attitudes towards teaching profession (r=.206; p<.05). Within the study, students' attitudes towards instructors' instructional competencies and students' perceptions towards teaching profession has been analyzed in terms of different variables (department, gender, grade and education type). According to the research results, first grade students' attitudes towards instructors' instructional competencies is found out meaningfully high when compared with the second, third and fourth grades. Besides, third grade students' attitudes toward teaching profession is found out meaningfully low when compared with the students from other grades. Also, it is found out that girls has more positive attitude towards teaching profession when compared with the boys.
