Günümüzde 3 boyutlu yazıcılar giderek yaygınlaşmakta olup, geleneksel üretim yöntemlerinin yerini almaya aday olarak gösterilmektedir. 3B yazıcı teknolojisi sayesinde, herhangi bir kalıba gerek kalmadan üretim yapılabilmektedir. Eklemeli imalatta birçok 3B yazdırma teknolojileri geliştirilmiş olup, bunlardan en yaygın kullanılanı Eriyik Yığma Modelleme yöntemiyle çalışan 3B yazıcılardır. Bu yöntemdeki eklemeli imalatta katman katman üretim yapıldığı ve katmanlar arası herhangi bir ilave bağlayıcı kullanılmadığından, üretilen ürünler her eksende aynı mekanik özellikleri göstermemekte olup, geleneksel yöntemlerle üretilen ürünlere nazaran bir miktar daha düşük mukavemet değerlerine sahip olmaktadırlar. Bu çalışmada, 3B yazıcı ile ABS ve PLA filamentler kullanılarak 1mm kalınlığında levhalar üretilmiş olup, bu levhalardan beşer tanesi üst üste yerleştirilerek birbirine yapıştırılmıştır. Buna ek olarak 3B yazıcı ile ABS ve PLA filamentler kullanılarak 1mm kalınlığında üretilmiş olan levhaların arasına farklı kombinasyonlarda 1mm kalınlığındaki Al 2024-T3 alüminyum levhalar yerleştirilerek üst üste beş tabaka olacak şekilde birbirine yapıştırılmış olup, Polimer Metal Laminat kompozit malzemeler üretilmiştir. Böylece 3B yazdırılmış polimerlerin mukavemetinin artırılması ve aynı zamanda alüminyum metal levhaların hafifletilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Tabakaların birbirine yapıştırılmasında Araldite 2015-1 iki bileşenli epoksi yapıştırıcı kullanılmıştır. Farklı özelliklerdeki polimer ve metal malzemelerin bir araya getirilerek kompozit malzeme oluşturulmasıyla, malzemelerin tek başlarına sağlayamadığı mekanik özelliklere sahip olmaları hedeflenmiştir. Bu amaçla üretilen malzemelerin boyutları, kütleleri ve sertlikleri ölçülmüş olup, çekme, eğilme ve düşük hızlı serbest düşme darbe test davranışları incelenmiştir. Yerleşim şekillerinin farklı olmasına rağmen aynı sayıda polimer ve metal levha içeren PMPMP ve MPPPM kombinasyonları arasından MPPPM kombinasyonunun daha fazla eğilme dayanımına sahip olduğu ve darbe testlerinde daha iyi sonuçlar verdiği tespit edilmiştir.
Today, 3D printers are becoming more and more widespread and are shown as candidates to replace traditional production methods. Thanks to the 3D printer technology, production can be made without the need for any molds. Many 3D printing technologies have been developed in additive manufacturing, and the most widely used of these are 3D printers working with the Fused Deposition Modelling method. Since the additive manufacturing in this method is produced layer by layer and no additional binder is used between the layers, the products produced do not show the same mechanical properties in every axis, and they have slightly lower strength values compared to the products produced by traditional methods. In this study, 1mm thick sheets were produced using ABS and PLA filaments with a 3D printer, and five of these sheets were glued to each other by placing them on top of each other. In addition, Polymer Metal Laminate composite materials were produced by placing 1mm thick Al 2024-T3 aluminum sheets in different combinations between 1mm thick sheets produced with a 3D printer using ABS and PLA filaments and gluing them together five times on top of each other. Thus, it is aimed to increase the strength of 3D-printed polymers and at the same time to lighten aluminum metal sheets. Araldite 2015-1 two-component epoxy adhesive was used to bond the layers together. By combining polymer and metal materials with different properties to create composite materials, it is aimed to have mechanical properties that materials cannot provide alone. For this purpose, the dimensions, masses and hardness of the materials produced were measured, and their tensile, flexural and low velocity drop weight impact test behaviors were examined. Despite the different layouts, it was determined that among the PMPMP and MPPPM combinations containing the same number of polymers and metal sheets, the MPPPM combination had higher flexural strength and gave better results in impact tests.
