Abstract:
Öz:Bağırsak parazitlerinin tanısında doğrudan mikroskopik incelemesi için hazırlanan preparasyonlarda protozoonlann çeşitli şekillerinin boyanmasında lugol solüsyonu kullanılmaktadır. Ancak zaman zaman tanıda zorluklarla karşılaşılmaktadır. Bu çalışma, bağırsak parazitlerinin tanısında kullanılan lugol solüsyonunun glasiel asetik asit ile birlikte kullanılması halinde etkinliğini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Anabilim dalımız laboratuvarmda parazit saptanan dışkılar seçilerek modifiye lugol solüsyonunda tekrar incelenmiştir. Bu yöntemle boyanan doğrudan bakı ve formol-eter çöktürme yönteminde parazitlerin yapılarının klasik lugol solüsyonunda boyanan preparatlara göre daha net görüldüğü ve solüsyonun daha uzun süre etkinliğini koruduğu saptanmıştır. Rutin dışkı bakılarında modifiye lugol solüsyonunun kullanılmasının daha uygun olacağı değerlendirilmiştir.
Başlık (İngilizce):The efficacy of the use of glacial acetic acid in lugol solution
Öz (İngilizce):Iodine solution is used to stain protozoa in stool smears in the diagnosis of intestinal parasites by direct microscopic examination. However, difficulties are still encountered in some instances in the diagnosis. This study was carried out to evaluate efficacy of a modified iodine solution made up with glacial acetic acid. Parasite positive stool samples detected in the laboratory of the Parasitology Department were selected for examination a second time with the modified iodine solution. It was found that morphological structures of the parasites were seen more clearly in both the direct and formol-ether sediment smears stained by the method than in the smears stained with the conventional iodine solution. Thus, the use of the modified iodine solution is a better approach in routine microscopic examination of stool smears.
