Öz:Genel anlamda kültür, belli bir zaman ve mekândaki insan topluluğunun yaşama şekli olarak tanımlanır. Kültürü, insanların fiziksel ve ruhsal ihtiyaçları belirler. Bu nedenle, kendiliğinden oluşma, kültürün en önemli özelliği kabul edilir. Geniş bir insan kesiminin ortak eğilimlerine karşılık gelen popüler kültür ise, kültürün ticarileşmiş ve sanayileşmiş biçimidir. Popüler kültür, tüketilmek ve alınıp satılmak üzere pazar için planlanarak üretilmiş kültürdür. Bu açıdan popüler kültürün kapitalizm, teknolojik gelişme ve sanayileşmeyle çok yakın ilişkisi bulunur. Futbol, sporun en çok tercih edilen ve ilgilenilen dalıdır. Futbolun popüler olmasının birçok nedeni vardır. Bu çalışma, farklı yaklaşımlar açısından popüler kültürü değerlendirmek ve popüler kültürün özelliklerini belirleyerek futbolun popüler olmasını sağlayan nedenleri analiz etmek amacını taşır.

Öz (İngilizce):In general meaning, culture is defined as a lifestyle of human society in the same place and at the same time. The physical and mental needs of humans determine the culture. For this reason, its formation is accepted the most important feature of culture. On the other hand popular culture that is against the common tendency of a large number of humans is industrialized and commercialized form of culture. It is a culture that is produced for its market to buy, sell and be consumed. So it has a very close relationship between capitalism and technological development or industrialization. Football is a type sports that is preferred and interested most. There is a lot of reasons why the football is very popular. The aim of this study is to assess popular culture in different approaches define its features and analyze the reasons why football.
